Amazing home, amazing lake. Home was a little challenging at times, but so worth it. Take your bathing suit, or skinny dip it just to say you did :-). The water is a bit chilly though, around 40 deg.

One of the best lakes in Oregon. The hike is 2.4 miles and 1.2 miles round trip. The elevation, sun and cliff exposure and lose gravel make it seem a lot father though. Please do not park on the side of the road or move rocks as others have suggested. All plant life up here is delicate and only had a short growing season. If you are here when it is too crowded please try not to hike and help limit your impact on this fragile, but amazing ecosystem.

Loved this lake. From the hike it looks pretty small. As you get closer it is a lot bigger. Very cold. It is snow run off and 9,000+ elevation. So I don't suggest swimming.

One of my favorite alpine lakes in Oregon! The hike is just dandy on the way down, but a constant climb on the way back up and can be a bit strenuous, depending on your health. If you go all the way to the lake from the trailhead, you will drop in elevation by ~1230 ft. The lake is beautiful and the water is quite cold, but well worth a dip if you go in the middle of summer.

From the trailhead, Wildhorse Lake is a couple of miles and about an 1,800 foot elevation decrease to reach the lake. The hike is definitely moderate to difficult. The lake is much further than it looks from the ridge line. Hiking shoes/boots and trekking poles are highly recommended. Also, start the hike earlier in the morning and head back up before the afternoon heat strikes. You are exposed the entire time so wear sun screen and insect repellent.
