- ★★★★★over 3 years agoUte Reservoir is a public use lake just west of Logan, New Mexico. The lake is formed by the Canadian River, which is impounded behind the aptly named dam. Ute Lake State Park offers numerous public access points with lots of camping options. There are many year round recreational activities that include: camping, hiking, boating, fishing, et cetera. Out of the lakes in eastern New Mexico and west Texas, Ute is definitely my favorite. I have been coming to this lake since I was a kid and have many fond memories here. At night, the starry sky is quite beautiful. Since there are no major towns nearby, the night sky is particularly dark. No trip to the area would be complete without visiting Ute lake.
- ★★★★★over 6 years agoVery good! Grounds keepers are amazing. The fishing is hit and miss but when it's good it's good. Use Ruff Neck tackle and bait shop. He is very knowledgeable and will put you on the fish. Sites are decent but lots of grass burrs. Unless you are pulling a single wide trailer home they can accommodate any rig size. Beer and wine are available at the convenient store attached to the Annex restaurant. Get some food while your there, it's not bad. Nice place, it's my go to get away when I feel like wetting a hook.
- ★★★★★over 8 years agoI love this lake!! It's a bring your own boat/watercraft lake, but lots to do. Fishing is good, water is nice n clean, plenty big for alot of boaters! Has a sandy beach area for swimming, playground, and plenty of overnight camping slots, we go every year all the time, try it if your looking for a great experience close to home!!
- ★★★★★about 7 years agoNice lake, fishing was very slow, however I caught a 4.76 oz smallmouth bass on the second cast. Check out the fishing report before going. Recommended.
