- ★★★★★12 months agoUnion Reservoir in Longmont, Colorado, is a popular spot for fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, and picnicking. It features a sandy beach, shallow waters ideal for kids, and a designated dog beach. While facilities are well-maintained, water quality can decline in late summer, occasionally limiting swimming. Entry fees apply, but the amenities make it a worthwhile visit.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoCame here to paddleboard - Nice size and had the speaker going no problem! No alcohol allowed here. Mountains are afar, but you can still see them. The patrol had binoculars & very on it when it comes to safety & alcohol. Dog Friendly! 🐕 Colorado State Park does not work for entry - Had to separately pay.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoUnion Reservoir is always enjoyable and I appreciate the fact that you can bring your own watercraft for a small fee, but also that there are plenty of rentals for anyone wanting to get out on the water. The only thing I wish they would improve is the process to actually enter the reservoir. I was in line at 9AM and there were already 11 cars ahead of me and when I left around noon there had to be 30 cars lining the road to leave. I understand places are short-staffed, but I’ve been coming here since before the pandemic and it’s always been this way.
- ★★★★★over 6 years agoNice reservoir overall. It's very easy to get to, there's plenty of parking, and theres something for everyone to do. It's a no wake reservoir so there is no motorized boats allowed. Perfect for stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing. The swim beach is okay. It's generally good for small kids, but if there are too many people there it can get rough from over aggressive older kids. The dog beach is nice for dogs, but I would advise against taking little kids to the dog beach if there are a lot of dogs there, as they can get run into or run over very easily. There is a playground for.kids, a volleyball court, and a bunch of places to grill. Overall its nice but not a 5 star area.
- ★★★★★about 3 years agoWe've gone a couple times to go paddle boarding. We get there around 9AM and haven't had a problem getting parked or with too many people on the water. It's a nice quiet calm lake and we will definitely spend more time there next summer
