Thanks to the PAGC for allowing use of this extremely well-managed property for kayaking. Habitat management is obvious!! Beautiful.

Situated just south of route 6 in NE PA, this reservoir is a great place to paddle and explore. Its marsh-like qualities make it a better paddling target in the spring prior to the over-abundant aquatic plants make paddling the entirety of the lake difficult. Still, plenty of birds to be seen, herons, red-winged black birds, belted kingfishers, and a bald eagle hanging out near a huge nest. Shohola Falls lies at the north end of the lake, just beyond the dam and is an easy walk from the parking area on that shore. The falls are well worth having a look at.

A beautiful place to go. Please carry out the trash you carry in.

The fishing is better since they killed the weeds. It's tough to get a boat in at the first ramp with the way some of the less intelligent people part. You typically have to back in from the road. You don't need to block the boat ramp with your kayaks. You definitely don't need to park on the boat ramp to load and tie down your kayaks.

We like fishing here for nice size pan fish and crappie, very seldom do you find Parasites in the fish. Plenty of action and always friendly people including the fish commission
