- ★★★★★about 1 year agoWent on a Monday in October. Parked at the Visitor Center and took the Buckeye Trail from Old Man's Cave to Cedar Falls, then Gorge Overlook Trail back to the Visitor Center. Rose Lake was on the way, and it was absolutely gorgeous with all the fall colors in its background. It's a mile each way from the parking lot at Cedar Falls.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoPretty view, terribly hard hike. My friend and I saw reviews describing this lap around the lake as easy, and it’s not. It’s easy to trip over roots and fall into the lake. It’s easy to fall down a dirt hill on this path. It’s easy to sweat and feel regret doing this, but it’s not an easy hike. Be careful, bring water.
- ★★★★★over 7 years agoThis is my favorite place to visit in Hocking Hills. It is not well trafficked, which I like a lot. Every time I have been here, it is very quiet and peaceful. There is a rough foot path around the lake. You can fish on the lake, but you cannot use any type of boat with a motor. There are no restrooms or water fountains. The trail around the lake is not wheelchair or stroller-friendly. The parking lot that I use is on the opposite side of the road (374) from the trail entrance that leads to the lake, and it is labeled with a small sign that says "fisherman's parking" (I think...I honestly haven't paid much attention to the sign). Other than that, I hope you enjoy the lake as much as I do!
- ★★★★★over 4 years agoWent to Lake Logan to fish didnt catch anything. The guy at the tackle place told us Lake Rose was great for fishing. 🤦♀️ was a waste of time. No bites, no fish but alot of seaweed. Saw several people fishing nobody was getting bites or catching fish. It's a pretty area but the fishing is terrible.
- ★★★★★over 7 years agoTurned an 8 mile hike into a 15 mile hike because I just couldn’t get enough of the scenery. (Okay I might’ve gotten lost) I regret nothing. The lake is very clean you probably wouldn’t die if you drank it. (Don’t recommend doing so) if you find a pair of Jessica Simpson sunglasses they’re mine. Lake is close to the campsite for easy access.
