- ★★★★★11 months agoA beautiful place to escape into nature and soak in wildlife. Love going during the summer and observing the migrating tundra swans.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoGetting there was difficult, the road was gravel or dirt with large puddles blocking the way. Several times we had to swerve off the road to avoid said puddles. After what felt like hours of driving we arrived at pungo lake and we'll let me say it was well worth it. We used the binoculars to look all over the lake and skipped stones. The water was the color of doctor pepper and every tree within a mile radius was dead but that only added to the charm. Pungo lake is a once in a lifetime experience for any travel I highly recommend making the trek.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoThe swans were there in great numbers. The roads getting to and around the lake can have lots of wet holes some deep. I drove through in my campervan but was afraid I was going to get stuck. Little to no cellular service out there too. Bring binoculars.
- ★★★★★almost 5 years agolots of wildlife (swans, bears, etc.) roads can be muddy and have large puddles after rain
- ★★★★★over 3 years agoAmazing! The best place to see the swans is at the westsouth corner of the lake.
