Thought I posted this already. Beautiful park. Nice trails. Affordable pet friendly cabin. I brought my own couch cover and decorative items in the pictures here. Very pleasant host. Available. The bad thing was the lake was not open the week before Memorial Day for swimming and the ticks were so bad that there was no way to enjoy the trails. It was quiet there. It was well managed. It would benefit from a dishwashing station I couldn't find one there. The neighboring towns are quaint.

Pretty lake near Hannibal, Mo. We affectionately call this a "redneck" lake as there is not much around the lake because the Army Corp of Engineers does not allow people to build on the lake. My in-laws bought a place about 3 miles from the lake and we have been coming up here for close to 20 years. Pretty quiet for the most case unless there is a fishing tournament taking place of a holiday weekend. Plenty of room for tubing, skiing, swimming, bluff jumping or floating. Black Jack Marina is a great place to get ice cream and feed the catfish.

A great place that's still close enough to civilization yet secluded enough that you will still be able to relax and enjoy a mini to long stay vacation. Rather you go for a simple day on the lake or a nature hike, to an extended overnight or week long camping stay, this is a great place to spend alone, with your significant other, or bring the whole family. Nature nature nature, how could it get any better?

We utilized the Frank Russell Recreation Area. Camping and trail riding is very reasonably priced with electric hook up. each camp area has a pick nick table and fire pit When there in the fall it is absolutely beautiful!! They have a clean out for your trailer at the exit. The shooting and archery is conveniently located near the camping area. We absolutely loved it and already have planes to return.
