It's really pretty here. So many trees, and everything is so very green this year of rainy weather. The lake is full (we've seen others that are only at 40% capacity, due to drought, so it's a lovely sight to see so much water). We've camped here before - had utilities at our spot this time, but the majority do not, and we camped without hookups previously. My husband did some bank fishing and caught several catfish which he released. Sad note for swimmers though, the swim beach - which is nice and big - has been closed. I believe due to algae (which isn't visible to me). I noticed yesterday that the sand had been groomed, maybe they plan to open it for the holiday weekend. Campgrounds were quiet when we arrived and set up on a Tuesday, by Friday I think every space is occupied. Saq several tables full of people eating on the outdoor deck at the marina. It's 4th of July weekend, though, can't say if it's always like this on weekends or not. We're heading out now, it's been nice!

I really enjoyed our trip here. We stayed in a cabin for a wedding. The cabin was fantastic and close to the water. It was flooded when we visited so that kinda put a damper on boating but we did get into the swimming area. Beautiful view would love to come back sometime.

Great fishing. 200 plus fish in three days. Walleye, crappie and nice blue cats. All catch and release.

This is an absolutely beautiful lake and camping area. I can not wait to come back and stay again. The cabin is very clean and cozy. The only issue I would warn people about is the mattress on the bed is not very comfortable. I would bring a pad of some kind to lay on top to make it more comfortable. We brought some wood for the fire ring which worked out perfect. There is a lovey deck to sit on but not a ton of shade around the cabin. If you have a easy-up tent that would a great item to bring. The food at the Marina was delicious and the people are very friendly. Bath houses were very clean as well. Overall a little slice of heaven tucked away in Jewell County. 😊

THE most beautiful lake in Kansas. The cabins, either rustic or furnished, are clean and we'll maintained. I can't imagine my vacation anywhere else.
