Reviews
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoA great place to canoe or kayak. Some nice campsites all along the shoreline. We stayed at site 7, the former location of a permanent camp with structures.
- ★★★★★over 3 years agoDid day outing with friend in kayaks. Black flies were in full force but had head netting and was not real issue. Part of old Whitney estate with only handful of buildings, most at state owned facility at launch site on west side of lake off Sabattis Road. Water was like glass on May 12. Stopped to enjoy our lunch on small island near southwest end of lake and lucked out as slight wind kept them out of our sandwich bites. Saw about 10 other kayakers and one row boater during 4-hour leisurely trek with most of them heading to campsites for multiple days. One loon followed us back up lake with its wailing.
- ★★★★★over 3 years agoGreat, quiet lake with many camping sites along the lake. No motorized boats allowed which keeps it extra peaceful! Beautiful place but be prepared to paddle for a while as it can get windy. Sites are first come first served.
- ★★★★★over 6 years agoCome enjoy a very accessable wilderness dream. No motors to bother you, just you and your lady beneath the stars and white pine canopy. Canoe to white sand beaches, take a long lunch at camp bliss (or don't lol), and hang your food high. The bears are not far.
- ★★★★★over 7 years agoMotorless lake with many free water access primitive campsites. Starting point for backcountry canoe trip. Difficult.
