Beautiful! 4.6 mile trail, starts and ends in the Nature Station parking lot. Takes about 2-2.5 hours for most, I finished it in 1:45. Some areas are muddy, there are some broken down trees along the path.

After hiking with our Cub Scout Pack members recently at Hematite Lake, my Troop members heading to Philmont crossed the road & started on Honker Lake Trail. We had a great day to continue hiking & get another 5-miles in. The trail was easy enough with a few hills towards our end. Certainly recommend folks to visit the Trail & also the Nature Center that is...well, right there too!

What a gem. If my buddy hadn't known about this place, I'd never have gotten to fish it. Several bass in the 2-3 pound range were caught in just a couple of hours.

Great place to be still and take it all in, to take a hike, or watch the wildlife.
