First time visiting the area. Great area with lots of options for places to stay. A number of things to do all around the lake, including a number state parks in the immediate area. I visited in late fall, but can see where all four seasons would be wonderful.

This is one of the largest water bodies in the state of Maryland. The water is pristine and an enchanting deep blue color. The locals Take great pride in the lake and keep it clean (also it’s the main source of income for them). One can rent a kayak or a canoe or a wave runner or a boat. Plenty of rental places. Best to check because they tend to closed early if there is no business. Many were also closed due to low water level. The place is quiet and peaceful. Great to escape the rush of the city and talk to yourself!
